La institución del otro en Merleau-Ponty: entre pertenencia y diferencia.

En el presente artículo buscamos poner de manifiesto la existencia de un tratamiento singular del problema de la alteridad (le problème d’autrui) en la filosofía de Maurice-Merleau-Ponty. Para tal propósito, hemos centrado nuestra lectura en su obra interrumpida La prosa del mundo. Consideramos que el citado texto condensa los aspectos fundamentales del problema, muchos de ellos ya presentes en La estructura del comportamiento y Fenomenología de la percepción, aunque ahora renovados por el abandono del punto de vista de la conciencia. Ante planteos filosóficos que piensan el sentido de la alteridad como aquello que, por su diferencia radical, no puede tener  una inscripción mundana, Merleau-Ponty propone pensar el mundo como provisto de una profundidad infinitamente participable. Es en este sentido que el problema de alteridad será tributario de una ontología en que la se combinan dos lógicas íntimamente entrelazadas: la pertenencia sensible a un terreno general y el proceso de diferenciación por medio de la palabra (parole). Luego de abordar los rasgos generales de ambas dimensiones, en nuestra conclusión hemos buscado pensar su funcionamiento en conjunto, planteando la exigencia de un proceso de institución sensible como surgimiento de la diferencia del otro.

Abstract

In this article we intend to demonstrate the existence of a particular treatment for the problem of The Other (le problème d'autrui) in the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty. For this purpose, we have focused on our reading of his unfinished work, Prose of the World. We believe that this text has condensed the fundamental aspects of the problem, many of them already present in The Structure of Behavior and in Phenomenology of Perception, but now renewed by abandoning the point of view of the conscience. In opposite to philosophical approaches, which contemplate the sense of alterity as something that cannot be worldly inscribed due to its radical difference, Merleau-Ponty proposes that the world is provided with an infinitely participable profundity. According to this, the problem of The Other is the result of an ontology that combines two logics intimately intertwined: the sensitive belonging to a general ground and the differentiation process through the word (parole). In conclusion, after approaching the general characteristics of these two dimensions, we have begun to think their functioning as a whole, posing the idea that a sensitive institution process is an exigent requirement during the emergence of differences in The Other.
